“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3: 23,24).
Hopefully, you have grown in your understanding of the Christian life, so that you no longer believe that it’s just ministers or missionaries or some other ministry worker who is serving Christ from day to day in their work.
God calls us to different occupations, and He doesn’t treat us like second class members of His Kingdom because we aren’t employed by a church or Christian religious organization.
For instance, King David was a shepherd, soldier, politician, song writer, musician, and he is described as a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14).
