The Perfect Man

His life, death, and resurrection are the only works I’m trusting in.

Written by Jacob Crouch | Saturday, July 4, 2026

When He was tempted, He never faltered. He never gave in. When He was tired, and hungry, the devil came and tried to turn His head. But Christ was victorious. When He dealt with His mother and unbelieving brothers, He was without sin. When He flipped tables and cracked the whip, He never sinned. The amount of conflict that Jesus found Himself in, yet He was still without sin.

“yet without sin”

Hebrews 4:15

When I give myself an honest look in the mirror, it’s not pretty. Not physically (though that’s not much better), but in the inner man. When I take the mirror of God’s word and let it judge the thoughts and intents of my heart, I see that there is a lot to be desired. I am acutely aware that I have not arrived yet. I have sin and shortcomings in my character, need for improvement in my interactions with others, and a lack of those great qualities that I see in Christ. In short, I’m far from perfect. But then I read this phrase: “yet without sin” (Heb 4:15).

Character

Can you imagine that? Jesus was without sin. Think about this: “Yet without sin” in His character. He was always humble. He was always godly. He was not quick to speak or quick to anger. He was always patient and loving. He was never unjust or unkind. He was without sin in every part of His character.
