TE Larry Allen Called Home to Glory

Written by Staff | Friday, May 22, 2009

This news from TE Tim Bayly of Bloomington, Ind.

TE Larry Allen was home in his chair on May 21, 2009, on the phone with a friend (Built to Lead’s Chet Scott) with whom he was planning a bike trip to France. They were both laughing–and God took him. An autopsy is being done, but results aren’t expected for several weeks. He leaves behind his wife, Kitty, and four children: Bekah, Rachel, Jim, and John.

Rev. Dr. Larry D. Allen (November 6, 1953 – May 21, 2009)
5753 Haddington Drive
Dublin, OH43017
(614) 764-0547 (H)
(614) 327-9008 (M)

A service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at the Vineyard Church of Columbus [Editor’s note: the original URL (link) referenced in this article is no longer valid, so the link has been removed.] with details soon to be posted on the blog of the organization Larry had been working with, Built to Lead, the organization employing Larry.

Larry, Robert Woodyard, Ben Sheldon, Jim DeCamp, Terry Schlossberg, John Sheldon, and I worked together in pro-life work for about a decade in the PC(USA), all serving on the board of Presbyterians Pro-Life. During those years Larry and I were closer than during our more recent years in the PCA.

Larry cared about the unborn children very much and we regularly talked about the need for an anti-abortion organization within the PCA.

May God comfort Kitty and the children.
