After working for over 20 years on the mission fields of South East Asia, translating the Word of God into languages that previously did not have it, he was called to pastor Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Baton Rouge, LA and served there faithfully for over ten years, until the time of his death.
John Wayne King, resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on September 20, 2014 at the age of 61 at Ochsner Medical Center Baton Rouge, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was the son of Daniel Willard King of Bassfield, MS and Ordine Robinette King of Alexandria, LA. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and sister Eleanor Louise (King) LaPointe.
He is survived by his wife Julie (Blom) King of Baton Rouge; children Elizabeth King of Albany, LA; Gerrit King and wife Erin of Baton Rouge; daughter Catherine King of Walnut Creek, CA; grandchildren Lorena and Gerrit Jr; brothers Bernard Perricone and wife Pam, and Stephen Perricone and wife Tana all of Beaumont, TX; sister Susan Perricone Holt and husband Sal of Comfort, TX; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

The family would like to thank the Ochsner Baton Rouge Oncology department, especially Dr. Delrie, Tamara and chemotherapy nurses, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff of Ochsner Medical Center Baton Rouge Emergency, Intensive Care and Medical-Surgical Departments.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 7:00pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3701 Jones Creek Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70816. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Ochsner Cancer Institute Cancer Patient Assistance Fund.
