New Presbyterian Church Welcomes Visitors

Written by Staff | Tuesday, November 17, 2009

from the Edmond Sun

Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Edmond, Okla., is a new church-plant of the Presbyterian Church in America.

With the recent growth Edmond and Oklahoma City have experienced along with the desire of a core group of people to bring a PCA church to Edmond, the network went forward in developing plans to start a church here. After a couple of years this desire finally came to fruition.

The Rev. Pete Hatton accepted the call to come to Edmond to start this church last fall and moved his family in January from Waco, Texas, where he served as a campus minister at Baylor University through the PCA denomination.

Upon moving to Edmond, Rev. Hatton has been asked multiple times, “Why another church here? Edmond is full of churches!” He answers that question this way: Yes, Edmond is full of churches, but also full of people who don’t know the gospel.

Redeemer meets for weekly 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship services at Edmond Christian Academy, 21477 N. Western, between Covell and Coffee Creek. More information about the church can be found here.
