June 1 Update on PCA Pastor Kip Slawter, Ballston Spa, NY

Written by Don K. Clements | Tuesday, June 1, 2010

A new website has been set up so friends can check in on regular intervals for medical updates and or prayer chain updates. Below is the last from the prayer chain as well as the link to the web site.

Dear Friends,

Please continue in prayer for Kip as he is in ICU at Albany Medical Center.

There is no major improvement at this time except that Kip no longer has a fever. The antibiotics for the ecoli seem to be helping with the lungs.

However, his lungs are still quite full of fluid. He will be in quarantine until after he is out of ICU and that will not take place until the respiratory issues are resolved. His vital signs seem to be good but this battle with infection has certainly been a setback.

He will be on the ventilator until his lung function improves so please pray that he will be able to handle the ventilator. It is very uncomfortable and irritating for him. He is pretty heavily sedated most of the time.

Pray for strength and encouragement for Judy. It is harder for her to spend time with Kip when he is in quarantine. Judy knows that God is still at work and has His purposes but it is difficult to wait and see Kip struggling.

Katie (daughter) plans on staying here until Kip is out of ICU. Chris and Jennie (daughter) and children are on their way back to TN and Will (son) flies back to Chattanooga today.

They are so thankful for your prayers and encouragement. Thanks. Sally

Remember to check the website where you can get updates and leave notes to the family. http://hopeforkip.com/

If you missed the medical updates over the weekend concerning the strigg;e infection and extremely high fever you can read the back postings at this sight and review the details.
