How “Side B” Ministries Hi-Jack the Great Commission

Any shepherd of the flock ought to be ready to use the rod and chase off these wolves in sheep’s clothing so that the sheep might be protected.

Written by Mike Solecki | Monday, December 16, 2024

Since Side “B” ministries give false assurances to homosexuals that they can be both gay and Christian. This undermines and corrupts the responsibility of faithful discipleship within the church to help people discover if they really are true disciples of Christ. If a Christian struggling with same-sex attraction homosexual prefers being identified with the LBGTQ+ community more than Christ, that is a problem that would need to be addressed, not pacified, because a person in that situation cannot in good faith be called a disciple of Christ and would therefore not be a brother or sister in Christ (Matthew10:34-39).

If you’re not familiar with Side “B” ministries let me sum them up in a nutshell. Side “B” ministries are deceptive parachurch organizations that purport to help the church minister more effectively to those who identify as LBGTQ+ and provide guidance for Christian families who have kids identifying as such. They claim to do this without ever compromising Christian orthodoxy, but this notion is untenable because these ministries promote the idea that same-sex attraction is not a morally culpable sin. Therefore it is perfectly acceptable to be a Gay-Christian as long as you stay celibate, ostensibly. If you would like an overview of how  Side “B” ministries compromise the truth of God’s Word in the name of compassion, you can read the previous article I wrote for TruthScript entitled, “Compromised Compassion.”

Today, I’m writing about a further danger Side “B” ministries pose to the church. While side Side “B” ministries claim to help the church, they in fact corrupt and undermine the Great Commission inside of any church that invites them in. This is done by getting the host church to pacify the LBGTQ+ agenda.

Exposing the Corruption

The easiest way to expose this corruption is by evaluating the ten-point promise of one of these prominent Side “B” parachurch organizations called, Posture Shift. Before reviewing this underhanded promise, let’s refresh ourselves with the Great Commission, which our Lord gave to His disciples and church to embrace as our mission in life.

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen”.

– Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV

Posture Shift’s 10-Point Promise To LBGT+ People

*Please note: The following bold print numbered points are directly from the Posture Shifts website. The bullet points underneath are my comments.

1) We will never come into your community with an agenda.

How can any Christian who is serious about the Great Commission keep this promise? The Great Commission is an agenda. It’s Christ’s agenda! Jesus’ agenda for all believers, is to go into all the world and make disciples. As a believer in Jesus, anywhere I go, I am to live my life on mission/agenda for Him. Christians cannot make a promise to certain individuals who find the message of the cross offensive that I will never seek to share the gospel with them so that they might get saved.

2) We will never discuss theology unless you seek such a discussion.

Faithfully fulfilling the Great Commission demands that believers seek out the lost and talk to others about theology whether they initiate the conversation or not.
