EPC Elkton (Virginia) Breaks Ground

Written by Staff | Monday, October 26, 2009

Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Elkton, Virginia celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a special service and groundbreaking for a new Fellowship Hall addition on October 11, 2009. Dr. Dick Little, Moderator of the 17th General Assembly (1997-1998), was the guest preacher.

The church, with a membership of just over 150, was organized in June 1983 with forty charter members. In September 1984, EPC Elkton became the first Evangelical Presbyterian Church to be constituted in Virginia.

“Our vision,” says EPC Elkton’s pastor Rev. Rob Buchanan, “is to be a light on a hill by offering real hope for real life – the very real and certain hope of eternal life in Jesus Christ in the midst of life’s daily challenges. At the heart of EPC is to help individuals and families stay connected to the Lord and each other, that’s why we’re adding on so we can reach more families.”
