Can U.S residents watch the videos and take the quizzes and exams found on the CCM website? …Yes, U.S. residents may and are encouraged to view the CCM courses, download the readings and take the quizzes and exams for their own edification. Colorado Springs Burning
A tsunami like wind pushed the fire over the ridge and 300 houses were destroyed
A number of families, members of the Presbyterian Church in America and other Reformed churches, were displaced (there were unconfirmed reports that a couple of their houses may have been destroyed, but residents have not been allowed back into the fire damaged area). At present the number of those displaced is around 75 families.
Critics Challenge NAE’s Abortion-Reduction Initiative’s Funding
Funding pro-contraception group draws criticism from World Magazine and Manhattan Declaration.
"Many of our churches and organizations either don't know what's happening or have chosen to keep silent about sex and abortions in the evangelical community," said [NAE President] Anderson. "Generation Forum was started to get the truth out [about sex and evangelicals]."
Dying can be a terribly lonely business. But it doesn’t have to be that way
The dance of being with the dying is all about human contact, not about knowing the right moves
But there are some general dos and don'ts. Don't yawn, look at your watch and look out of the window. Don't have bad breath. Don't – and really, really don't do this – bang on about how you have had the same ailment. Don't have that hound-dog face of sickly piety. Much better to smile and bubble
“Discuss Religion” Debrief from an RUF Intern
I was sitting...about six hours every school day with a sign taped to a chair that said, “Discuss Religion.”
My internship with RUF is complete. It seems like the last two years were both very long and very short. But while it's good to think about the past, my hope is in the future, in the return of Christ in the fullness of His kingdom, and so I keep my eyes fixed on that day and press on towards it.

National Association of Evangelicals' response about promoting contraceptives outside of marriage
I’m moving toward finishing the story partly previewed Thursday (see “Strange bedfellows”) and scheduled to go to press in the next issue of WORLD on Tuesday. Earlier last week I asked to speak with National Association of Evangelicals President Leith Anderson, but NAE communications director Sarah Kropp asked me to submit questions in writing,... The Aleppo Codex: Rival Owners, Sacred Text
How the most authoritative manuscript of the Hebrew Bible found its way to Israel.
It turns out that the Jews of Aleppo did not intend to give up the precious codex—the merchant to whom they had entrusted it had no right, they felt, to pass it along to the [Israeli] government. They wanted it back.
‘Get in line’ or ‘resign’ Admiral tells military chaplain
Liberty Institute reports receiving more religios freedom complaints than they can handle.
Although the U.S. Military fight and die to uphold freedom, high-level military chaplains report they are increasingly being denied freedom of conscience and freedom of speech. There is also alarm about the negative effects on troop morale over the undoing of the 237-years’ practice of providing traditional religious support for U.S. soldiers.
Strange bedfellows – NAE and those who support contraception for the unmarried
National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregancy gave $1M grant to NAE
372 (young evangelical) audience members had the opportunity to answer electronically this question, "Do you believe churches should advocate contraception for their single 20-somethings?" Almost two-thirds voted yes. News reports trumpeted that result as evidence that the debate over contraceptive use by the unmarried is over, since even evangelicals favor it.
‘Reformed Communion’, a new PCA Alliance formed and a website launched
And they really know how to throw a party!!
"The Reformed Communion is a ministerial network seeking to share in ministry and life together. We are committed to the gospel, a reformed theological orientation, a catholic sensitivity, the centrality of the church, the mission of God and an incarnational approach to ministry."
