Adding to our confessions need not be the daunting task which some think. It might begin simply by a presbytery overturing our General Assembly to bring a proposal to NAPARC. Said proposal would convene a committee of scholars, drawn from across the member communions, to draw up a model confessional statement on marriage, sex, and gender, along with suggestions as to how it might fit into the Westminster Standards and the Three Forms of Unity.

The "Black and Tan" era was a very painful and violent history in the lives of African Americans who were forced out of the Republican party by the 'Lily-White Movement'... For someone who is credible in certain tribes as historically knowledgeable about the South, "Black and Tan" seems to be curious title for an apologetic of Slavery As It Was. Even worse, to not understand (or care) why such a title would raise additional concerns for blacks in even more troubling.

Those who are attacking Regnerus cannot admit their true political motives, so their strategy has been to discredit him for conducting "bad science." That is devious. His article is not perfect—no article ever is. But it is no scientifically worse than what is routinely published in sociology journals. Without a doubt, had Regnerus published different findings with the same methodology, nobody would have batted a methodological eye.

Four fears tempt every pastor. They are: 1. My fear of me…2. My fear of others…3. My fear of circumstances…4. My fear of the future.

I don’t have some Pollyanna view of people that would exclude violence against women coming from people with the complimentarian perspective. But, I also want to trust that when the authors respond with indignation to allegations and labels made of them that they promote violence against women, they really have been misunderstood
