Worst paying jobs that require a college degree

Written by E. J. Young | Wednesday, May 26, 2010

“…members of the clergy should look to rewards other than those of a financial nature. Those who study in the theology field can expect to earn close to $35K.”

Social workers and teachers must love what they do. They don’t enter those professions for the money as they are two of the worst paying jobs that require a college degree. It seems a bit ironic that two of the worst paying jobs directly relate to the important tasks of protecting and educating young children.

For those dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people, social workers and teachers aren’t lured by big paychecks. As the old adage goes, “Money can’t buy happiness”.

The following list provides details on the worst paying jobs that require a college major:

#1 Social Workers
Sociology majors who become social workers can expect to garner slightly more than $33K. (more)

#2 Elementary Teachers
The salary range for education majors varies quite a bit from state to state. (more)

#3 Ministers and similar members of the clergy member
Like social workers and educators, members of the clergy should look to rewards other than those of a financial nature. Those who study in the theology field can expect to earn close to $35K. (more)
