The overture may be taken up for consideration at the May stated meeting after considering the report of the study committee.
The Bayly blog is reporting that Metro Atlanta Presbytery will be considering a proposed amendment to the Presbyterian Church in America’s Book of Church Order at its January 23 stated meeting. The proposed amendment, adopted by the Session of Atlanta’s Westminster Presbyterian Church, asks the PCA General Assembly to allow local churches to select men and women as deacons in a manner determined by the Session, and then commissioning them.
