My experience with most church leadership is that it is notoriously slow to act and misses great opportunities for ministry and growth because “now is not the right time.” I’m not advocating for recklessness, but against expecting perfect conditions before someone takes action.
Years ago, I came across a verse buried in the book of Ecclesiastes which made a huge difference in my life about decision making.
“He who observes the wind will not sow and he who regards the clouds will not reap.”
(Ecclesiastes 11:4)
The farmer who is always watching the weather for the perfect conditions before he does anything will end up doing nothing.
Life isn’t perfect and conditions are seldom ever perfect.
I understand many businesses became successful despite being started in tough economic times.
