What Does This Look Like in Heaven?

Does this moment make the gospel shine brightly, or does it seem out of place?

Written by Jacob Crouch | Wednesday, February 18, 2026

Why wait for heaven before I start to live like I’m going there? Why not live for the next life now? Why not make my life make sense in light of a holy God and our promised hope?

Lottie Moon once said regarding insufficient missionary support to China, “I wonder how these things look in heaven. They certainly look very queer in China.” What she was hitting on was an all-too-common experience. This is the experience of living your life in such a way that makes no sense to heaven. We have so many situations where this happens. Here’s the question: If God were looking on these situations (which He is), would they make sense? And think about this: When you step into eternity, will they make sense to you?

What anger are you holding onto? What relationships are fractured? What sin are you unwilling to put to death? Put yourself in the heavenly places for a moment. Can you see the God who knows all things, sees all things, and plans all things? What is He thinking in this moment? Does He approve? Does it line up with the fact that He has given His Son for you? Does this moment make the gospel shine brightly, or does it seem out of place?
