Don’t be afraid to call yourself a Trinitarian. We believe in a thrice holy God. This God, who exists as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, redeemed us when we were headed for hell. The Father chose, the Son purchased, the Spirit empowers. As we live, we live in communion with the Trinity.
When I got my wisdom teeth out this year, an obligatory video was taken of me in my half-asleep state. Part of my problem was I didn’t remember saying half of it, but I do remember one thing.
When I got into the car, my mom (she took me because my wife was at home with our sick child) asked me, “Do you have anything you want to talk about?”
Well, of course I did. With slurred speech, I said, “Let’s talk about the intricacies of the Trinity.”
As funny as that was, it’s something we should talk about. The Trinity is something we should pay more attention to, intricacies and all. Of course, as I hope we understand, to be Christian is to be Trinitarian. You must believe in the Trinity—Father, Son, Holy Spirit—to be classified as a Christian. There are certain fundamental Christian truths, and that’s one of them. This is why we place such a huge emphasis on the deity of Jesus, for example.
