Walking Through What Is Hard

Think of one act of obedience you have been putting off because it feels hard. Take a small step toward it today, and ask Christ to meet you there.

Written by Rich Bitterman | Saturday, January 31, 2026

Jesus walked this road first. Obedience led Him through rejection and pain before it led to glory. He never hid the cost of following Him, but He never withdrew His presence either. That is what gives courage to quiet faithfulness. The kind that feels costly and unnoticed. God uses that steady obedience to strengthen souls, including our own.

There is a quiet fear many of us carry, the fear that if life gets hard, something must have gone wrong.

“Strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, saying, ‘We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.’”

Acts 14:22 (NKJV)

Paul goes back to the very towns where he had been chased out, threatened, and left for dead. He does not soften the message and he certainly does not promise relief.

He looks believers in the eye and tells them the truth. The road into the kingdom runs straight through trouble.

That sounds heavy until you realize what it actually does. It steadies the heart.
