Dr. Chad Van Dixhoorn was trained at Westminster Theological Seminary (M.Div., Th.M.) and the University of Cambridge (Ph.D.). He is a distinguished scholar and author, having recently published The Minutes and Papers of the Westminster Assembly, 1643-1652, a five-volume work with Oxford University Press (2012). He has taught Church History and Practical Theology at RTS/Washington since 2008 part of that time as an adjunct faculty member.
Dr. Chad B. Van Dixhoorn has been appointed associate professor of church history. Dr. Scott Redd, president of Reformed Theological Seminary in Washington D.C., made the announcement recently.
“Chad brings an impressive mix of academic excellence in the area of church history and experience with faithful pastoral ministry,” Redd commented. “His addition to our residential faculty will greatly augment RTS/Washington’s work of equipping ministers and Christian leaders in the Washington metropolitan area.”

He has taught Church History and Practical Theology at RTS/Washington since 2008, part of that time as an adjunct faculty member. Van Dixhoorn describes himself as “an incorrigibly confessional Presbyterian,” and he has a reputation for filling his classes with wisdom and humor.
Having served as associate pastor of Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Vienna, Va., since 2008, he will continue his pastoral duties there while teaching at the seminary. He and his wife Emily have five children.
