We are where we are today by the providence of God. And this is where we are called to be His people in the place where we are for now, and however that might express itself.
Where you and I are today is not by chance, but by God’s will.
Sometimes we call this God’s providence.
We occupy positions maybe in family, work, social relationships, church, business, and other areas and activities.
As Christians, our whole life belongs to Jesus Christ, and we are supposed to be His people wherever we are.
For instance, a man can be a husband and father in the home, a supervisor at work, a soccer coach for some kids, and a member of a civic organization.
In each place, position, he is to serve Christ. That doesn’t mean the children’s soccer team has to memorize bible verses; but it means he will have rules for the language and attitudes that he will maintain while coaching.
