When to Leave Your Denomination?
Should you leave your church if it’s forsaking biblical orthodoxy?
Written by Mark Tooley | Thursday, July 26, 2012
A shell congregation of the Falls Church that disagreed with the over 90 percent vote to leave the Episcopal Church has continued to meet and now possesses the large property. Reportedly fewer than 100 attend its services in a facility that once accommodated thousands. One of its recent preachers was a radical former missionary forced…

‘The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert’: Honest, Glorious, Wise, and a Gut-Punch
Written by Kirk Blankenship | Friday, July 13, 2012
The portion where Dr. Butterfield is the most critical (and appropriately so) is where she helps us see where our spiritual formation is too often superficial and how the church frequently allows us to frolic in our biblical immaturity.

Be careful – a husband can cripple or foster emotional health
Written by Rebecca VanDoodewaard | Saturday, August 18, 2012
So how will your boyfriend do after the vows? Because this is just a sampling of the ways that a husband can bless or curse his wife. The effects are far reaching, long lasting, and either wonderful or difficult. True, there are no perfect men out there. But there are great ones. And it’s better to be single for life than to marry someone who will make your life a burden. Singleness can be great. Marriage to the wrong person is a nightmare.

Seeing how (Lincoln) brought to pass the 13th amendment felt a little like a punch in the gut.
Written by M. David Sills | Monday, November 26, 2012
All thinking, godly men and women know that it is sinful to own another person and mistreat them for one’s own advantage. Yet I think that with God’s guidance a better solution could have been found than to purchase “freedom” with 700,000 souls.

Jihad If You Do, Holy War If You Don’t
So what makes Muslims different aside from a different sacred text?
Written by D. G. Hart | Saturday, October 6, 2012
If Christians are going to portray the struggle between Islam and the West as a clash of civilizations, and then take shots at the West for abandoning Christianity, they will need to give a fuller account of the differences between Islam and Christianity on secular politics.

Tim Keller’s Disappointing Comments on Homosexuality
Written by Robert A. J. Gagnon | Sunday, September 23, 2012
What the Academy needs today is men who are fearless in proclaiming sin, righteousness, and the coming judgment in the context of the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ to desperate sinners like us. And these men should normally be those who are followers of Jesus Christ who work on campus; His slaves who can’t help but be faithful in speaking of His holiness and mercy in their classrooms, faculty offices, faculty senate meetings, on the walkways from classroom building to classroom building, and so on

Some Notes on “Seven Notes from ‘Lincoln’”
Written by Kenneth Pierce | Wednesday, November 28, 2012
Dr. Sills claims the movie makes a “reductionist argument that the war was over slavery,” and says that this “is tantamount to saying the Iraq and Afghanistan wars…were over petroleum.” That is laughable. Here’s the main difference: Southern leaders and secession documents both state that the war was indeed over slavery.

PCA’S Standing Judicial Commission has spoken; No officer or teacher may hold to Theistic Evolution
Written by Don K. Clements | Wednesday, May 30, 2012
“Holding the view of beginnings expressed in ‘theistic evolution’ is contrary to the fundamentals of our system of doctrine taught in the Word of God and our standards. Such a view destroys the basis of such doctrines as the doctrines of sin, of marriage, of salvation, of covenants, and others. Therefore such a view cannot be allowed as an exception. Anyone holding such a view must be disqualified from teaching and/or ordination in the church.” –Decision of New River Presbytery upheld by the SJC.
