Together for the Gospel Announces Theme, Speakers For 2020 Conference

T4G20: Entrusted with the Gospel will encourage pastors and church leaders to consider their sacred responsibilities as stewards of the gospel.

Written by Together for the Gospel | Thursday, September 12, 2019

While many interests and activities may be worthy pursuits, pastors must be careful to cherish the gospel of Christ above all. Together for the Gospel 2020 will remind pastors of this important responsibility and encourage fidelity in their ministry.

Together for the Gospel 2020 will encourage church leaders to remain focused on the sacred trust of the gospel, refusing to be distracted by other endeavors or messages. The event, which will take place April 14-16, 2020 in Louisville, Kentucky, will feature speakers such as Mark Dever, Ligon Duncan, Albert Mohler, John Piper, Kevin DeYoung, H. B. Charles Jr, and David Platt.

While many interests and activities may be worthy pursuits, pastors must be careful to cherish the gospel of Christ above all. Together for the Gospel 2020 will remind pastors of this important responsibility and encourage fidelity in their ministry.

Mark Dever, co-founder of Together for the Gospel, said this: “Pastors are under threat of being distracted and confused from what the main thing is… We wanted to make it clear that there is a gospel message that is weighted at the very center of the way we understand ministry.”

Together for the Gospel, commonly referred to as T4G, will be introducing five new leaders to its platform in 2020:

  • Trip Lee is an author, pastor, and hip-hop artist. Lee’s music has received critical acclaim while reaching a large and growing audience.
  • Greg Gilbert is the pastor of Third Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky and author of What is the Gospel? (Crossway, 2010) and other books.
  • Richard Chin leads the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students, a ministry to international and domestic college students.
  • Ed Moore is the pastor of North Shore Baptist Church in the Queens borough of New York City.
  • Matt Merker, a pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC, will lead music at the conference. Merker has written many well-known modern hymns including “He Will Hold Me Fast” and “Dear Refuge of My Weary Soul.”

Registration for T4G20 opened September 3, 2019. Discounts are offered for groups, students, and international attendees.

Together for the Gospel is a biennial conference for current and aspiring church leaders to encourage them through biblical preaching, teaching, worship, and resources addressing theological and cultural issues with an unchanging gospel.
