God’s purposes are not undone by human limitation. He works through imperfect servants who see differently, judge readiness differently, and sometimes part ways. That does not make conflict desirable, but it does mean it is not sovereign. God remains sovereign.
They were not unfaithful men. They loved Christ and still could not walk the same road.
“And there arose a sharp disagreement, so that they separated from each other.” (Acts 15:39, ESV)
The disagreement between Paul and Barnabas is recorded without explanation or excuse. Scripture does not smooth it over.
Two faithful men could not agree, and their paths divided. It dismantles the myth that Christian work is carried out without cost.
God advanced His purposes without resolving their conflict first. He does not step aside. Instead, the work continues along two roads rather than one. The disagreement is real, but it does not have the final word.
