Much of God’s work begins quietly. A conversation. A household. A single act of obedience repeated over time. These beginnings rarely look strategic or powerful, yet they are often the foundation of lasting fruit.
We often assume that meaningful work must start with something impressive.
“For who has despised the day of small things?”
Zechariah 4:10a (ESV)
God does not share our impatience with small beginnings. Scripture gently corrects our tendency to overlook what appears ordinary or insignificant. The question in this verse is not asked to shame us, but to expose how easily we misjudge what matters.
