Tennessee Valley Presbytery (PCA), meeting in Knoxville, Tenn., voted on October 12 against the BCO 14 amendments which would change the funding plan for the PCA Administrative Committee.
The vote was Yes 20, No 29, and Abstain 2.
In addition, here is an update on a previous story concerning the vote of Westminster Presbytery which also voted against the BCO 14 amendments.
Although Westminster Presbytery voted against the amendments, it also unanimously adopted a motion following the vote urging churches to support the Administrative Committee. The motion stated:
That a letter be sent by the Presbytery Stated Clerk to all the church Sessions of Presbytery, encouraging them to voluntarily give on an annual basis a minimum of one-third of 1% of their annual revenues and gifts to the Administrative Committee. Even though the vote was in the negative against the present proposal, Presbytery affirmed its belief that the Administrative Committee (including the work of the Stated Clerk) is important to the ongoing ministry of the PCA and that our churches need to support that work.
The totals of Presbyteries voting on the BCO 14 amendments to this date is now 10-4 against approving the funding plan for the Administrative Committee.
