One head, many hats. But only one helmet of salvation. Protect your head. If not, you live by heart, not mind. A hurt head leaves you ruled by feeling. Heart decisions lead to hard places. If feelings dictate action, you miss God’s appointments.
After the terrible destruction of the flood, Noah stepped off the boat—no telling what the world looked like then. In the midst of absolute tumult, he looked up and saw the most glorious thing he had ever seen.
What a sight it must have been when he beheld the bow in the cloud.
The Lord said, “This is the sign of the covenant.”
God was setting a marker as a reminder for every generation that followed, “You can count on the promise and purpose of God.”
Never forget it!
No matter what storm you go through, glory will be revealed on the other side.
I am so glad the Lord is with us beforehand, at hand, and afterward.
He is ever with us.
I opened my Bible this morning and began to notice how many events unfold in and around storms—how the Lord spoke, how His presence was revealed.
The Lord works within our circumstances.
The storm does not stop Him. In fact, the storm is often a platform—like the bow in the cloud—a way God reveals Himself.
Ephesians 6.
It begins: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
“Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore.”
Skipping to verse 17:
“And take the helmet of salvation.”
No matter who you are, you must dress for battle.
When you are born again, you are born on the frontline of a raging war.
This war began in Genesis 3 and rages still.
