The faithful at Golden Isles Presbyterian Church are giving thanks. Their new pastor, the Rev. Alexander Brown, took the pulpit June 6 and was ordained as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
A native of Scotland, Brown grew up in the coastal town of Carnoustie. During his undergraduate education at the University of Dundee, he took part in a student exchange program with the University of Oklahoma. His theological education is from the Theological College of the Free Church of Scotland, from which he graduated. He is currently enrolled in a master’s program at Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. His vision for the church is simple: “We would be a congregation that is rooted in grace for a life of grace,” Brown said.
Brown said that he wants the congregation at Golden Isles Presbyterian Church to be so overwhelmed by the Gospel that it affects everything they do in the church and outside it. “We want to be a church amazed by grace,” he said…
Worshippers at Golden Isles Presbyterian Church will find church to be a traditional experience.
Music is accompanied by a piano and hymns are from the Presbyterian Church in America hymn book, the “Trinity Hymn Book.”
