There are lots of things you don’t even have to ask God about. You know not to steal and not to lie and other things that are maybe harder, like not to complain. But sometimes, we may be missing something. Maybe we aren’t working on the book or project or goal we should be. Maybe we are ignoring our spouse or children or parent. “What am I missing, Lord?”
I know you pray, and I’m glad you do.
We’re Christians; our prayers may never be published in a book of great prayers, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t good prayers.
And we pray about all sorts of things. We give thanks, ask for wisdom, confess sins, and go through a mental or written list of things we know we need help with, and only God can help us and others.
But sometimes a good question to ask is, “Lord, what do you want me to be doing?” “What am I missing?” “What don’t I see?”
