So, if not the BCO 14 Proposal, what should be done to ensure necessary funds for the PCA Administrative Committee?

Written by Don K. Clements | Tuesday, January 25, 2011

For the past 9 months, in addition to running stories either for or against the BCO 14 plan (we published more against since we received more than we did from individuals in favor), The Aquila Report has also published stories advocating other possibilities.

In the apparent defeat of the proposed changes to the PCA Book of Church Order, Chapter 14, seeking to provide a method for full funding of all the work of the Administrative Committee, things would just go back to the problem of inadequate funding for many necessary functions – unless something else happens.

The AC will be meeting in early April for its Spring meeting, and it is possible for another proposal to be acted on at that meeting, assuming the ‘right one’ could be identified. Or they could ask for input from around the denomination and study it for another year!

For the past 9 months, in addition to running stories either for or against the BCO 14 plan (we published more against since we received more than we did from individual in favor), The Aquila Report has also published four stories advocating other possibilities. They were:

The Hedman Plan – A Viable and Voluntary Alternative…
The Westminster Plan – A Sensible Alternative…
The Midway Plan – …By Voluntary Means
The Clements Plan – …Fix It The Right Way

Tomorrow morning (Tuesday, January 25), we introduce a fifth plan – one from a Session of an Ohio church. Since it is fresh, we thought it best to begin with today. That story will appear on the front page just below this one.

Over the next four days – Wednesday through Saturday, we will be republishing those other four stories to bring them back to the attention of our readers – and then we would ask that our readers submit responses.

Send individual response to each of the reprinted stories with what you like about them and what you don’t like about them.

And, as the week goes along, you may come up with a revision to one of these plans – or a totally new plan – that might be worth consideration by the AC.

Send all of these recommendations to [email protected]

If you are commenting on a specific proposal, be sure to identify it clearly.

And be sure to check back regularly to see what our readers may come up with for ideas.
