We can follow biblical rules of confrontation primarily with fellow Christians, as we share the same common ground. We can also strive to apply them in principle with non-Christians when we have offended someone or when someone has offended us.
Jesus gives a couple of rules to follow when trouble happens in our personal relationships, and they involve personal confrontation.
In Matthew 5:23, 24, He says, if you know someone has something against you, then try to get it straightened out. It’s so important, you need to do this before you engage in worship.
In Matthew 18:15-17, He says, if you have something against someone else, then confront them with it. There’s a process to follow. Also consider Galatians 6:1.
I think these rules best work between Christians, because each has the same common ground. But I still try to follow them in principle at times with non-Christians if I have offended someone, or have been offended. But with non-Christians, I can only go so far.
