President of Westminster Seminary to speak at GOP fundraiser

Written by Andy Powell, Gadsden Times | Wednesday, October 13, 2010

One of the dinner’s organizers, said he read Lillback’s book (George Washington’s Sacred Fire) shortly after it came out. After seeing him on Beck’s show, Hopper called to see if Lillback would be available to speak.

Peter Lillback, author of the best-selling book “George Washington’s Sacred Fire,” which deals with Washington’s Christian faith, will be the keynote speaker at the Etowah County, Alabama Republican Party’s annual dinner and fundraiser.

The dinner will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 21 in the Gadsden, Alabama Convention Hall.

Lillback is the senior pastor at Proclamation Presbyterian Church in Bryn Mawr, Pa., and is president of Westminster Theological Seminary, where he is a professor of historical theology. He has made several appearances on Glenn Beck’s television show and on C-SPAN and has written several books.

Lillback also serves as the president of the Providence Forum, a nonprofit organization committed to preserving and promoting America’s spiritual roots of religious and civil liberties.

Living between Philadelphia and Valley Forge for many years, Lillback has pursued an avid interest in the Judeo-Christian heritage of the United States.

He has done research and study on the founding and founders of the United States through examination of original source documents in numerous libraries and archives.
