PCA Minister Daniel Sulc, 83, Called Home to Glory

PCA Minister Daniel David Sulc, 83, died Sunday, June 9, 2013

Daniel graduated in 1952 from Columbia Bible College, and attended Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA from 1952 to 1955. He served many churches during his pastorate: Bethany Presbyterian Church, Martinsburg, WV and Little Falls Presbyterian Church, Falling Water, WV (1958-1964), Fairmont Presbyterian Church, Bristol, TN (1965-1970), Covenant Presbyterian Church, Ft. Lauderdale, FL ((1970-1980), Swannanoa Valley Presbyterian Church, Swannanoa, NC (1981-1994).

 

Rev. Daniel David Sulc, 83, formerly of Swannanoa, N. C., died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at his daughter’s residence in Weddington, N. C.

He was the son of the late Vaclav and Lydia Ondra Sulc, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Evelyn Sulc; and three sisters, Libby Farris, Marie Sluka, and Esther Geckle; and three brothers, Joseph Sulc, Edward Sulc, and Ruben Sulc.

Daniel is survived by three daughters, Gail Chubb of Parker, CO, Katherine Birnbaum of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Dana Sharpe of Weddington,NC: two brothers, Paul Sulc and Jim Sulc, both of Prince George County, VA; there is one granddaughter, Lydia Chubb.

Lauderdale, FL ((1970-1980), Swannanoa Valley Presbyterian Church, Swannanoa, NC (1981-1994). Though Daniel retired in 1994, he was interim Pastor of Fairlea ARP Church and New Lebanon ARP Church in Ronceverte, WV from 1995 to 1997. He continued to serve in pulpit supply from 1997 through 2003. From 2003 to 2010 he worked as a part time cashier at Lowe’s in Asheville, and after moving to Weddington, worked at Lowe’s of Monroe from 2010 to 2013.

Dan joined Evelyn in Glory on June 9, 2013.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Powell will officiate.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Swannanoa Valley Presbyterian Church, 115 Rockdale Avenue, Swannanoa.
