Membership has grown from a small group of people in 2006 to almost 400, resulting in the need for space to continue to minister and grow.
The Madison Heights Church, a relatively new congregation in Madison, Mississippi (a suburb of Jackson) recently unveiled their building-stewardship campaign. It is titled “His Plan, Our Future” and has three goals:
First, they hope to raise the necessary funds to construct phase one of their future campus.
Second, they plan to set aside three percent of what they raise in order to start another church in their area.
Third, they are going to lend a helping hand to Hope Hollow, a ministry for children with special needs, in regards to several construction projects at their summer camp.
Madison Heights Church held their first worship service in September of 2006. They were organized by Mississippi Valley church and became an established church in October of the next year. Hunter Brewer, formerly on staff with the nearby Lakeland PCA church, was the church planter and is the lead minister of the church. Josh Kines and Bill Whitwer are serving as assistant ministers.

In 2007, the church purchased eighteen acres of land in a strategic location in Madison located directly off Reunion-Annandale Parkway. The master plan of the church calls for three phases and a potential fourth. Phase one is going to cost between four and six million dollars. The leadership hopes to be able to break ground in the spring of 2011.
Madison Heights is composed of many young families and children. In order to accommodate their needs, the nursery and the children’s ministry will be a main focus of their new building. The plan calls for a sanctuary that seats 500 people and can be easily converted into a fellowship area for dining purposes. The exterior will be traditional in style, which was a unanimous request of the congregation.
One of the interesting aspects of the “His Plan, Our Future” campaign is the three dimensional video the church created of the new building. The leadership of the church believes this will help in fundraising and give people a better idea of what this young church is setting out to accomplish. The video is on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoW9CcaUbUQ.
