PCA Author to host book signing Saturday in hometown of Paris, Tennessee

Written by Columbia (TN) Daily Herald | Sunday, July 10, 2011

Tennessee native Nancy French returns to her hometown of Paris, Tenn., Saturday to sign copies of her and her husband’s new book, “Home and Away: A Story of a Family in a Time of War.” They attend Zion Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Columbia.

The book reveals David and Nancy French’s journey from normal family life to something a lot more dangerous when David — a 37-year-old Harvard law graduate and president of a free speech organization — trades his briefcase for an M4 rifle, leaving behind his wife Nancy and two kids. Neither a political diatribe nor a foxhole memoir, “Home and Away” uses humor, transparency and humility to tell the story of a family’s experience at war. The book has unique dual perspectives from the soldier who leaves and the spouse who stays behind with the kids…

An author and political commentator, Nancy French now lives in Columbia with her husband and their three children.

Nancy is the co-author of Bristol Palin’s new book “Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far,” the author of “Red State of Mind: How a Catfish Queen Reject Became a Liberty Belle” and the editor of SixSeeds.tv. In addition to writing books and magazine articles, she also assists celebrities in telling their own memoirs. She co-founded the grassroots political website EvangelicalsforMitt.com along with David and friends.

David is a captain in the U.S. Army and a senior counsel with the American Center for Law and Justice. French has practiced law since 1994 and graduated with honors from Harvard Law School…
