Rev. John A. Little, retired pastor of the First Presbyterian Church (ARP) of Tucker, Georgia, died Tuesday, Sept.15, 2009. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel. Interment will be in Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 – 6 p.m. in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church of Tucker, ARP.

He earned an A.A. Degree from East Mississippi Junior College in 1957 and the B.A. degree in Bible from Belhaven College in 1960. He received the M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary in 1969.

Rev. Little was ordained in Walnut Grove, MS and became pastor of PCA congregations in Walnut Grove and then in Philadelphia, MS, from 1969 until 1985. He was received into Second Presbytery of the ARP Church on Nov. 25, 1986 and was installed as Pastor of the Tucker Church on March 22, 1987.

He served on various presbytery committees and in the Synod on the Board of Christian Education and the Committee on Worship. In his community service he has been on boards of the health department and the Red Cross. He has worked with schools and has been a member of the Rotary Club.

After reaching the ARP mandatory retirement age for ministers, Rev Little remained in Tucker to serve as Stated Supply and provide pastoral care. John’s wife, Peggy has worked in the offices of the Administrative Committee of the PCA since 1997.
