More in Truth

In spite of all their advantages, they did not know the truth.

Written by Ben Stahl | Sunday, February 7, 2021

With the world is only lies and falsehood. With the Christian is the Word and Spirit of truth given to us by the Son of truth who was sent by the Father of truth. God who is with us is truth! What kind of foolishness would desire lies rather than truth?

So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” – II Kings 6:16 NKJV

After 10 years of a fruitless and costly siege, the Greek army sailed away leaving a large wooden horse outside the gates of Troy. The Trojan army pulled the horse into the city as a gift and celebrated their long awaited victory. All was not as it seemed however, and in the dark of night, Greek soldiers crept out of the horse, opened the gates of the city, and welcomed the Greek army which had returned under cover of darkness. The Greeks prevailed and Troy was taken.

That fateful night inside Troy, the Trojan army was more in number than the Greeks hiding in the horse. They were more in power since the majority of the Greek army was outside the city. They had better position for they were entirely surrounded by heavily fortified and well defended walls. But they lacked one element for victory – the truth! In spite of all their advantages, they did not know the truth. They who had held off the Greeks for ten years, were defeated in a single night.

If Christians do not have the truth with us, numbers, power, and position will leave us only as strong as Troy many centuries ago. Who has the truth? The world or the Christian? Consider the world, what truth does it have? It has many idols manifesting themselves in many ways. It has riches, power, new philosophies, pride, and nameless gods to list a few. Though the world may call unto them they will not answer nor can they save them out of their trouble. When trouble arises, those that seek after these idols find themselves, like the priests of Baal on Mt. Carmel, with no help whatsoever. What good is power or wealth as one lies dying of cancer or coronavirus? What good is critical race theory when standing before the judgment seat of God? The gods of the world are false and only deceive their followers continually.
