Ruling Elder and former GA Moderator Steve Dowling has been appointed as MNA Interim Coordinator, effective October 1, 2025, pending the approval of the General Assembly Theological Examining Committee. We are thankful to the Lord for His provision during this time of transition.

Ruling Elder Steve Dowling has served the PCA and the assembly faithfully for many years. He served, more recently, as moderator of the 51st PCA General Assembly. He is currently an executive in the cloud computing business of a Fortune 200 company. Steve was first ordained as a ruling elder in 2003, and for the past 21 years he has served as an elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Auburn, Alabama, which is part of the Southeast Alabama Presbytery. In that capacity he has twice served as Moderator of Presbytery and has been a member of the Nominating Committee for more than 10 years. He also served four years on the Candidates and Licentiates Committee and is currently on the Examinations Committee. At the General Assembly level, he has been a member of the Overtures Committee 14 times, chairing it twice, and has served on the Committee on Constitutional Business. He has been on the Standing Judicial Commission for the past nine years. Before entering commercial business, Steve spent 27 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He became a Christian through the influence of Christians with whom he served. While an instructor at Cornell University, he came to the PCA through the ministry of New Life PCA in Ithaca, New York.  Steve and his wife, Laura, have been married for 42 years. The Lord has blessed them with nine children, 20 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
