I saw that your blog is repeating false accusations against Girl Scouts. The real story here is that the United Nations hosted an event to discuss the status of girls in the world. During the time when Girl Scouts were presenting, Planned Parenthood was handing out fliers. Girl Scouts did not authorize this pamphlet distribution. A reporter mistakenly took this to be Girl Scouts supporting Planned Parenthood. When Girl Scouts demanded a retraction the reporter refused. I’m not surprised given the Main Stream Media’s goal of destroying the traditional family.
Each troop is allowed to have independent affiliations. Unfortunately some misguided parents have allowed Planned Parenthood to be a part of their troops activities. In most cases, the National organization of Girl Scouts has asked these troops to stop their activities.
My daughter is learning how to run a good business through the sale of Girl Scout cookies. She is also learning responsibility, respect for authority, and how to build strong friendships. Please don’t punish thousands of great kids and well run troops for the mistakes of a few and the lies of the MSM.

Peter Diers

(Editor’s Note: Just for clarification, The Aquila Report is not a blog. We are primarily an aggregate web magazine, regularly searching for and reprinting news articles and blog articles either written by, or dealing with, or of interest to churches and individuals in the Reformed and Presbyterian circle. About 95% of our material is such aggregate, but we do write original stories as well. But, as an unfunded not-for-profit, we cannot afford to hire writers.
As to the article in question, which can be reviewed here, it was reprinted from LifeSiteNews.com. According to their website, they are a non-profit Internet service dedicated to issues of culture, life, and family. We have reprinted many articles from this source and have found them to be careful journalists. They mostly report on hot-topics such as abortion.
The issue in this Letter to the Editor concerning the details of the UN conference is only one of six or seven issues the author uses to make her point about the Girl Scouts. We will pass this letter on to LifeSiteNews, and suggest that Mr. Diers follow up with them.)
