If my goal is to reach San Diego, I’m not going to be content to be in Cleveland. So, let’s improve upon this idea. How about: “There are many successes on the journey to success.”?
You’ve probably heard something like: “Success is the journey and not the destination.”
When I hear this, it seems to be in the context of encouraging people not to be discouraged in reaching their goals, and to grow through the process or journey.
Do I tell my friend, “Okay, you needed to lose 35 pounds in the last six months and you’ve lost 3, so you’re successful, because it’s all about the journey”?
No, this isn’t kind. Instead, I’m going to say, “How can I help you reach your goal? I’m concerned for your health.”
