The House did pass HB 229, but it killed Senate Bill 406, which was even stronger. Rather than just defining male and female, SB 406 required the biological sex of children to be put on their birth certificates and prohibited changing the certificates by registers or court order to list something other than the person’s biological sex. Doing this is important because changing birth certificates to match the person’s “sexual identity” or “chosen gender” is a key aspect of the transgender assault on society.

Its official. Or it will be, as soon as legislation passed by the Texas Senate last night is signed by Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott and takes effect on September 1. That’s when Texas law will officially acknowledge what God told us thousands of years ago:

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)

Of course, even without God’s Word, humanity has known this obvious truth since the early days of creation. And while there have been attempts to obscure it throughout history, it is only in the last 15 years or so that the corrupted American culture has succeeded in doing so to the point where we have to pass laws that state the obvious.

House Bill 229 provides these simple definitions that must be adhered to wherever they are found in Texas statute:

“Female” and “woman” mean an individual whose biological reproductive system is developed to produce ova.

“Male” and “man” mean an individual whose biological reproductive system is developed to fertilize the ova of a female.

“Girl” means a child of the female sex.

“Boy” means a child of the male sex.

How did we ever get to a place where we have to argue about whether someone is a boy or a girl? A man or a woman? Because our culture is in rebellion against God.

The first thing we learn about God in the Bible is that He is our Creator: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). This is where the lie of evolution came from; a rebellious culture trying to hide this fundamental aspect of God’s nature in an attempt to deny God’s existence. Of course, it is destined to fail, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork (Psalm 19:1). Yet it succeeds in hiding the truth from many.

The same thing is happening with the lies of feminism, homosexuality, and transgenderism. God created us male and female with males and females having different attributes and different roles in God’s creation. Humanity with these differences also testifies to the glory of God our Creator. And much like evolution, feminism, homosexuality, and transgenderism are designed to deny that God is our Creator, and thus that He exists at all.

We’ve seen the consequences as these lies have taken root in our culture since the 1960s. Sexual diseases have spread rapidly, with AIDS killing perhaps 750,000 Americans. Approximately 63 million babies have been murdered through abortion. The structure of the family has crumbled: two parent families have declined overall by 25%, only 33% of black children live in two parent families, and as few as 25% of families have a stay-at-home mother. At best, students in public schools are told that God does not matter.
