UPDATE 1-26: Geneva College student missing

Written by Staff | Monday, January 24, 2011

Police in Beaver County have ended their search for a missing Geneva College student but are continuing to conduct interviews of friends and family today.

Search called off for Geneva College student Torsten Ove, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Devon Minor, 19, of Clifton Heights, near Philadelphia, was last seen on the Beaver Falls campus on Thursday. His family reported him missing on Saturday, and yesterday about 30 firefighters, police officers, state troopers and an FBI agent searched for him on and around the campus and along the banks of the Beaver River.
Charles Jones, chief of police in Beaver Falls, said there is no evidence that Mr. Minor was the victim of foul play but wouldn’t say if police have a theory about what happened to him.

Devon was last seen late Wednesday evening/early Thursday morning and his family filed a missing persons report on Saturday, January 22. Since Devon’s roommates became concerned and reported his absence to the college, Geneva officials have been working with Devon’s family and local authorities in an attempt to locate him.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Devon (photo attached) or believe they have seen Devon over the weekend should contact the Beaver Falls Police Department at 724-846-7000 or Geneva College Security at 724-846-9632.

Geneva College Provost Ken Carson says “One of the strengths of the Geneva community is its caring people. We’re deeply concerned about Devon and are praying for his safety. It is our hope that he is soon found to be safe.”
