Evergreen Presbyterian (PCA) Church’s Dolly Parton Parkway in Sevierville, Tennessee location could be heading for the auction block soon, but Pastor Brad Bradford said Thursday the ministry would continue whether it’s there or in another place.
The church moved to the new location in 2005, taking the space near the Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge Airport after New Hope Church moved to a location on Highway 66.
It has remained there since, but a foreclosure notice running in The Mountain Press indicates it is set for auction at 10 a.m. Jan. 13 on the steps of the Sevier County Courthouse.
The church acquired the property with a loan provided through the Evangelical Christian Credit Union, a group that provides financing for churches. The notice shows the total value was $3.8 million.
Bradford said they remain hopeful that they’ll find a way to stay at their home. “They are (foreclosing), but that doesn’t preclude any further kind of arrangements with them,” Bradford said.
“There’s a lot of unanswered questions.”
(Editor’s Note: The church was planted in 1987 by PCA Teaching Elder Randal Davis. In 1995 Teaching Elder Dave Geib was called and he remained until 2003. Henry (Brad) Bradford arrived that year and continues as the pastor. Neither the church’s website or Facebook page carry any more details.)
