‘Family Talk’ is Largest Launch in Christian Radio History

Written by Lee Ann Jackson | Sunday, May 2, 2010

The new radio program will cover the gamut of family topics, focusing on all generations from child development to grand-parenting, and regularly featuring experts in many related fields and specialties.

Returning to the national airwaves on Monday, May 3rd, Dr. James Dobson’s voice will be heard on over 500 outlets with launch of the new daily “Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson” radio program.

Joining Dr. Dobson on each day’s broadcast will be co-hosts Ryan Dobson and LuAnne Crane as the program covers a wide variety of topics concerning today’s family.

Dobson, a well-known author (Bringing Up Girls has just been released this month, and is already on the New York Times bestseller list) and child/family development authority was the founder of “Focus on the Family.”

“Our country is facing desperate circumstances now, and the family needs all the help it can get. Frankly, we’re circling back to 1977, when I left USC to address the same concerns. I’m very excited as we look ahead” says Dobson.

Startup includes prime coverage on several of the nation’s most significant networks (American Family Radio, Bott Radio Network, Salem Communications). While the launch is significant, it’s anticipated the network of participating stations will continue to grow in the immediate future as audiences petition their local station to carry “Family Talk.”

Along with seasoned host Dr. Dobson, the new show features his son, Ryan, already a well-known ministry youth speaker, internet communicator, husband and father. They are joined by veteran producer Luanne Crane whose 25 years of Focus broadcast production experience, combined with the insights she has gained as a wife and as a mother of four, provide an additional dimension for each day’s subject matter.

The new radio program will cover the gamut of family topics, focusing on all generations from child development to grand-parenting, and regularly featuring experts in many related fields and specialties.
