“We are not trying to build separate Hispanic churches, which would be a financial burden to everyone, but to change the existing church to embrace the entire body of Christ.”
John Bueno, Director of Latins United, was appointed an EPC Home Missionary by the National Outreach Committee at its fall meeting.
John has led outstanding ministry to the Hispanic community in the United States for years. Latins United, based in Omaha, Nebraska has the following mission statement: “To blend a cross culture of people uniting them in a Christian community of faith, service and mission.” This mission is acted upon with preaching, teaching, outreach, radio, kids and counseling ministries.
John, who will be introduced and commissioned as a Home Missionary at our 2011 General Assembly, is very interested in working with EPC churches in their community and connecting with churches already engaged in that ministry. He says,
I believe the future of Hispanic Ministry is to bring awareness to the existing church” so that it “can visualize the kingdom of heaven as multi-cultural. We are not trying to build separate Hispanic churches, which would be a financial burden to everyone, but to change the existing church to embrace the entire body of Christ. My vision is not only for the Hispanic culture, but for all cultures within our community.
“We’ve asked for years how we’re going to reach out to Hispanics in our country,” Stated Clerk Jeff Jeremiah said. “I believe John is the Lord’s provision of leadership and expertise to us to pursue aggressively outreach to Hispanics.”

The National Outreach Committee, chaired by Frank Clepper, approved funding in the 2011 budget to cover the cost of travel for all our Home Missionaries to travel to presbyteries and churches to promote their ministries.
