With deep appreciation for his labors in training ministers of the gospel, Reformed Theological Seminary announces that Dr. John Oliver will retire from his position as the Robert Strong adjunct professor of homiletics and practical theology, effective May 31, 2013. Dr. Oliver has taught at the RTS/Charlotte campus since 1999 in the areas of preaching, worship, sanctification and missions. Prior to his time at RTS/Charlotte, Dr. Oliver had served in the pastorate for nearly 35 years, with 29 of those years as senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Ga.

To thank him for his many years of service, a lunch reception for Dr. Oliver will be held on the RTS/Charlotte campus on May 7 at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel.
