Deborah Conner Jones, wife of PCA Teaching Elder James A. Jones, Jr., went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 29, 2012, after a lengthy bout with metastatic breast cancer. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Sarah E. Jones and Lydia R. Jones.
Shortly before her passing into glory her husband read from John 14:1-6, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (ESV).
Jim Jones remarked, “After reading this passage Deb struggled to speak and managed an “Amen!” in reply to the passage. May God bless all who read this come to know the only God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, as Deb knew him.”
The family will receive friends at the DeRidder Presbyterian Church in DeRidder, Louisiana, on Thursday, January 3, 2013, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, January 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
