David Powlison Appointed New Executive Director of CCEF

Written by Staff, CCEF | Wednesday, August 14, 2013

After twelve years of service, six of these as our Executive Director, Dr. Tim Lane has resigned from CCEF. Dr. David Powlison has been appointed as CCEF’s new Executive Director.

Dr. Powlison has been a leading voice in biblical counseling for nearly 30 years as an author, counselor, and professor. He has written numerous articles on counseling and ministry. His books include Seeing with New Eyes and The Biblical Counseling Movement: History and Context.

Dr. Powlison holds degrees from University of Pennsylvania, Westminster Theological Seminary, and Harvard. He currently teaches at CCEF and edits the Journal of Biblical Counseling.

About CCEF

CCEF (Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation) believes Scripture and faith apply profoundly to the hardships and details of life. CCEF’s vision is to understand and teach how the riches of the Gospel transform us and our efforts to help others. CCEF also believes the church is God’s primary context to help and transform his people. CCEF’s desire is to equip the church to be this kind of transforming community.

CCEF’s mission then is to restore Christ to counseling and counseling to the church. CCEF accomplishes this through counseling, courses, publications, and conferences. For more information, visit www.ccef.org or follow us on Twitter at @ccef.
