Covenant Presbyterian Church, Naples, Fla., Calls Former Navy Chaplain, Paul Wrigley , as Executive Pastor

Written by Naples News | Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Paul Wrigley has joined Covenant Church of Naples (PCA) as executive pastor. He oversees church administration and staff and provides ministerial nurturing of lay leaders.

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Wrigley retired in October after 35 years in the United States Navy. He served as a combat pilot and flight instructor before leaving the service to attend the seminary. After being ordained in 1988, he returned to the Navy and served as chaplain in several places including the Arabian Gulf during Desert Storm, the Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point, N.C., and Okinawa, Japan. His last Navy assignment was command chaplain for the U.S. Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, Va.

Wrigley holds a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from the naval academy in Annapolis, Md.; a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, R.I.; and master’s degrees in biblical studies and divinity from Biblical Theological Seminary in Hatfield, Pa.

Covenant Church of Naples, established more than four decades ago, welcomes people from a wide range of backgrounds while maintaining its core biblical identity. The church aims to create an environment that strengthens families and nurtures individuals through a range of programs and group activities. The congregation is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America, one of the faster growing evangelical denominations in the United States, with more than 1,450 churches and missions throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The 16-acre church campus fronts a quarter-mile of U.S. 41 between Vanderbilt Beach and Pine Ridge roads at 6926 Trail Boulevard. For more information, visit www.CovenantNaples.com.
