Charles deWitt named Belhaven College – Memphis Dean of Faculty

Written by Staff | Tuesday, February 2, 2010

Dr. Charles deWitt has been named the Dean of Faculty at Belhaven University-Memphis. Dr. deWitt comes to Belhaven University with many years of teaching and administrative experience in higher education. He has been an administrator at the University of Memphis since 1993.

Dr. deWitt first served as Assistant Dean for Paralegal Studies and more recently as Administrative Dean at the School of Law.

Though this will be Dr. deWitt’s first full-time position at Belhaven University, he is already a familiar face on the Memphis campus. As an adjunct instructor for over twelve years, he has long been a member of the Belhaven community. In assuming his new role at Belhaven, he comes with great enthusiasm and a desire to serve the students and faculty as Belhaven continues to grow in the Memphis market.

Dr. deWitt received his B.A. in History from Pacific Union College, M.A. in History from the University of Memphis, J.D. from the University of Southern California, and will receive his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Memphis in May 2010.
