Richard Land of Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberity Commission to retire
Retirement effective Oct. 2013, 25 years to the date after assuming office.
Land said he was 41 years of age when he came to the commission, more than 10 years younger than the next youngest Southern Baptist entity leader and the first "baby boomer" to head a denominational agency. "It has been the honor, privilege, and blessing of a lifetime to serve the Lord, the wonderful people of God called Southern Baptists, and other brothers and sisters in the faith through the ERLC for virtually half of my entire ministry."

Ruth and Karl Price said their son put God first, was unassuming and shied away from praises like being called a "hero."
When Pastors Panic
The pastor’s panic wasn’t about possibly dying, but over his circumstances
I sent this email out after the struggles of the weekend. God had allowed me to have the cardiac catheterization on Monday. By now I knew I’d need the bypass surgery. God had prepared me. He had shored up my faith, against my own fear and against the attacks of the devil. On Tuesday, May... Continue Reading
Pew Poll: Romney may see an evangelical ‘enthusiasm gap’
One in four white evangelicals say they are uncomfortable with Romney's Mormonism
Many social conservatives warned during the GOP primary that Romney would struggle to spark evangelical enthusiasm. Fewer conservative Christians would volunteer to canvass neighborhoods, donate money or plan rallies, they said.
An Interview with R.C. Sproul (Part 2)
What do the words “well done, good and faithful servant” mean to you at this time in your life?
The reason holiness and grace go together is that the more I understand who God is, the greater appreciation I have for His holiness, and I figured the more that’s going to make me hate my sin. Yesterday I shared the first part of my recent interview with Dr. R.C. Sproul. We discussed his new book,... Continue Reading
The Lies and Spin of Virginia Bishop Shannon S. Johnston
A challenge to a bishop’s take on the recent Episcopal General Convention’s adoption of a blessing ceremony for same sex unions
I supported the Convention’s resolution not because of the movement of secular culture but out of personal and theological conviction. Moreover, after over 30 years of the Church’s study and dialogues, I believe that it is time to be publically clear about the full acceptance of committed same-sex relationships in the life and witness of... Jonathan Merritt Shares his Story
LGBT blogosphere has exploded in attempt to 'out him'
It's from my brokenness, that I feel I can now be transparent, honest, and authentic about these accusations. Those close to me know I have actually been planning to share the story of my brokenness for some time. Because it is part of my spiritual journey. And because it underscores the power of the Gospel to transform lives.
PCA Teaching Elder Marvin Padgett ‘retires’ from Publishing
Worked 15 years in acquisitions for Crossway and P&R Publishers
Close friends have learned not to use the words 'War Eagle' within hearing range of Marvin as he Roll Tides about as strongly as any non-Alabama born University of Alabama alum is allowed to.
Former Saint’s Remorse: Jason Stellman’s conversion
Leaving the Reformed Faith for Roman Catholicism on Scripture and Soteriology
What is striking about Rome’s teaching in Stellman’s account is its consequence for how we think about sainthood. According to Protestantism, I…am a saint already here and now by virtue of faith in Christ and the imputed righteousness and holiness that come by through saving faith. This is why most Reformed creeds and catechisms teach about the communion of the saints.
