Written by Don K. Clements | Thursday, June 21, 2012

As the General Assembly resumed business on Thursday after the morning seminars, the first item of business taken up was the Review of Presbytery Records. Southern Baptists: Gay rights not civil rights

Gays and lesbians…lack the "distinguishing features of classes entitled to special protections."

Written by Associated Press | Thursday, June 21, 2012

McKissic, who is black, said it was "an unfair comparison" for gays to equate same-sex marriage with civil rights because there is not incontrovertible scientific evidence that homosexuality is an innate characteristic, like skin color. "They're equating their sin with my skin," he said

EPC General Assembly Begins on a Light-Hearted Note

Written by Don Clements | Thursday, June 21, 2012

There are an estimated 400 million smartphones (iPhones, Androids, Blackberries, and so on) across the globe. Brown estimates that number will rise to 1 billion within a few years, because "more and more people are doing everything on their smartphones." Last year, for the first time, sales of smartphones and tablets surpassed those of laptop and desktop computers. Daily time spent on apps now exceeds time spent online on laptops and desktops.

At the PCA General Assembly: Seminar On the Age of the Earth

No Difference Between Adam Specially Created and a Hominid Adopted by God

Written by Rachel Miller | Wednesday, June 20, 2012

He explained that his intention was not to change Young Earth Creationists into Old Earth Creationists. His desire was to have those who hold to a young earth at least understand that those who hold to an old earth do so for plausible reasons. He repeated his desire to remove a stumbling block to the faith that requires a belief in a young earth.
