Every Place Is a Place to Talk about Jehovah
Every Christian must, should, and can evangelize unbelievers because we Christians with joyful hope in Jesus Christ, who are able to share the Gospel with everyone around us through our day-to-day interactions.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ produces joyful hope in our hearts. It tells us how God so loved the world and sent His only Son to save sinners from their eternal damnation. It tells us how Jesus Christ loved His elect people so much that He died for them on the Cross. It also tells... Continue Reading
Does Your Baptism Matter? Challenge Your Faith and Reflect on Its Continued Significance
The adult who was baptized upon profession of faith and the child who was baptized will be held to account for their faith or lack thereof.
The world is full of adults who professed faith, underwent the waters of baptism upon that profession, only to have the memory of their baptism fade into the recesses of their minds. The world is also full of adults who were raised by Christian parents, were presented for baptism, were washed in the water, and... Continue Reading
Where Is the Promise of His Coming?
The Day of the Lord awaits the salvation of the last of the elect to believe and repent.
The Christian’s focus should be on the eternal rather than the temporal. All of the things associated with ‘this age’ will be dissolved. This is the Greek word λύω (luō). This word describes the process of breaking up an object into small pieces or melting it. What we see now in ‘this age’ will not... Continue Reading
3 Things You Should Know about Daniel
We too have duties and privileges as the people of God awaiting the return of our king and the fulfillment of the restoration program that He began two thousand years ago.
The Lord is still sovereign over human history, so His people should be faithful in their duties and enjoy the privileges that they have as God’s covenant people. Throughout it all, they should trust in the Lord of their salvation and know that one day He will restore them. Just as the righteous remnant of... Continue Reading
Christlike Christians Sing
I’m concerned that many think singing praise is just for “those musical folks”. But no! Singing is for all those who would be most like Christ.
Singing God’s praise is a natural outflow of knowing the bountiful grace of God. “I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me” (Psalm 13:6). Singing praise is a natural response of the glad heart that is found in salvation. “Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise” (James 5:13). Singing praise... Continue Reading
Imprecatory Praising
While the Proverbs passage says that we are not to "rejoice when our enemy falls" nor "let your heart be glad when he stumbles", I don't understand how we can sing Psalms like Psalm 9 & 10 where we ask God to judge the wicked and we praise him for doing so.
We are not to gloat, make fun of, ridicule, rejoice over, etc., our enemy. In other words, we do not go to them or others to gleefully mock them for their downfall. But, as you show, we can go to the Lord and rejoice in His victory over His enemies. This is very closely linked... Continue Reading
In the Garden of God’s Glory
If no one ever sees it, does God get the glory for it? Yes, yes He does.
It is a sobering thing to consider that there are potentially worlds and stars and entire universes that God has made for just Himself. Realms beyond the peeping eyes of men and angels – for Him, and Him alone to enjoy. I would encourage you, dear reader, to spend some time in the book of... Continue Reading
The High Cost of Discipleship
The requirement to be His disciple is to love Him above all things and all people. If He isn’t Lord of a professing Christian then he or she isn’t His disciple.
Those who believe they are Christians, but refuse to pay the cost of discipleship are like salt that has lost its savor. Just as this salt is worthless or useless, so will be those who think they are saved, but are not His disciples. Why? They aren’t saved, therefore, they are not regenerate and don’t... What God Wants, God Gets
Understanding Our Role in the Divine Plan and Resting in Its Wisdom
Job does not see his loss as a net positive because he ended up with more than at the beginning. This man after the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit’s own heart is just as content at the end as at the start. The reason for this is not rocket science. It is because... Continue Reading
How Do You Know?
We can know things from and about God because of what has been written.
So my encouragement is to know your Bible! Don’t let fickle emotions or situations be the driver behind your assurance. Let the unchanging word of God be the thing that informs what you know. Don’t just know true things, but know the truth! Know God’s word for yourself, so that you can fend off the... Continue Reading
